2025 in review: RADARO
4 Min Read

2025 has been a year defined not just by change, but by acceleration. Supply chains that were once steady and predictable are now evolving at a pace that demands closer attention and smarter technology.
Across the industry, organisations have been pushed to rethink how they operate – shifting from manual processes to automated, data-rich, environmentally conscious, and potentially even AI-driven operations (yes – they are all possible).
This year, we also delivered some ambitious updates – from dynamic route optimisation and multilingual translation to deeper analytics and more sophisticated driver compliance.
In this 2025 review, we’ll unpack the forces that shaped the year, explore the new capabilities we launched, and share a forward vision for 2026.
Key trends that shaped the supply chain industry in 2025
1. The Power of Data and Intelligence
2025 reaffirmed that last-mile logistics is one of the richest data engines in the supply chain – but also one of the most underutilised. While operations generate valuable insights on distance travelled, delivery performance, capacity utilisation, POD compliance, and customer feedback, much of this information too often sits in silos or spreadsheets, preventing teams from moving beyond daily firefighting. Forward-thinking organisations shifted from simply collecting data to truly leveraging it, using deeper analytics to uncover root causes, reduce failed deliveries, improve utilisation, and make proactive decisions rather than reactive ones.
2. Environmentally Conscious Supply Chains
Sustainability shifted from aspiration to expectation in 2025, driven by tightening regulatory requirements, rising customer expectations, and major industry leaders like Amazon and DHL setting new benchmarks for environmentally conscious operations. Businesses that made the most progress focused on practical, measurable strategies – optimised routes, fewer failed deliveries, maximised fleet utilisation, enhanced data insight, and long-term investments in EVs and localised fulfilment.
3. Scalable Supply Chains
In 2025, scalability became a defining requirement for supply chain success, with businesses needing the flexibility to adapt to shifting consumer demand, seasonal spikes, and expanding markets without sacrificing service quality or cost efficiency. Achieving this level of adaptability required strong data management, advanced analytics, proactive risk planning, automation, and organisations to embrace modern technology.
4. Next Generation of Route Optimisation
In 2025, route optimisation evolved from static planning into a dynamic, intelligent cornerstone of logistics. The next generation of route optimisation will be optimised for mixed-fleets, accounting for critical delivery constraints such as:
Vehicle load capacity
Driver availability
Road closures and traffic conditions
Truck-specific restrictions, such as low bridges or weight limits
Skill-based job requirements
5. AI in the Supply Chain
In 2025, AI dominated industry conversations and events, but much of the hype did not translate into better operations. While many vendors rebranded traditional data analytics as “AI-powered,” real-world logistics continued to hinge on the kind of unpredictable events no algorithm can foresee, from driver no-shows to sudden road closures. The real progress came from getting the basics right: digitising workflows, integrating systems, and giving planners, drivers and back-office teams accurate real-time data. With that foundation in place, genuine AI can add value instead of becoming just another buzzword or dashboard.
